Le Club Des 7 Jours was born in 2005 and is officially recognised as an association for HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention. Today, the association has about one hundred registered members and many supporters. The Club des 7 Jours has premises that serve as headquarters for the three identity associations in Lomé. Le Club Des 7 Jours has branches in several towns in the country and is continuing to expand.
PURPOSE, OBJECTIVES, AREAS OF INTERVENTION AND MEANS OF ACTION
Extract from the statutes of the association:
Article 5: The aim of the Association is to fight against HIV/AIDS and to defend the rights of minorities.
Article 6: The objective of the Association is to conduct awareness raising activities to reduce the prevalence rate in the population and to advocate for the rights of minorities.
Article 6: The Association will organise educational talks, individual interviews and mass awareness-raising by peer educators that it has trained in the field of STI and HIV/AIDS prevention.
Article 7: The Association will organise training and information workshops to make members aware of their rights and duties as individuals from minorities.
Article 8: The Association will rely on the talents of its members and their creativity to develop means of action in order to achieve its objectives.
Article 9: The Association will do its utmost to cultivate the spirit of mutual aid and will do everything in its power to achieve its objectives for the full development of its members.
